I got my hunting license few weeks back, now im looking for a places to hunt, already purchase my small game and deer tag. Are there any place good places to hunt around GTA? I could travel 2-3 hours away... or anyone want to take me hunting??

Thanks

well you got a little ahead of yourself. First things first, find land, knock on doors, then when you get permission go buy a tag. You could go and try some crownland but the best way is to knock on doors and hope for the best. Its not easy but i've lucked out by knowing friends of friends with property but even then I have lost property due to many reasons beyond any of my control, good luck

Even crown land anywhere remotely close to the gta is rare, gotta start knocking on doors. Took me a long time to get a mere couple properties.. Now I hunt waterfowl from a boat.. unless I can get away for the weekend then its up north I go !! Best of luck buddy! Do you have any connections with family or friends that own property

Found some crown land. Ofah has a membership as provides access to some crown land spots. All new hunters start there and they start knocking on doors. The best spots are always private.

Get to know some farmers, especially those with outstanding prairie dog (varmint shooting is great fun and really builds your shooting skill set) or crop/orchard destroying deer or black bear problems.

The "Crown" land is Simcoe County Forest. Hunting is permitted in some of the tracts, only selected seasons, but target shooting is prohibited.

As above, you will need to find decent private land. Hint, some farmers often like volunteers for checking and/or clearing windfall (branches, trees) from fences, etc....

If you do approach farmers, think of it like a job interview, dress and act appropriately.

That's the biggest reason I moved from there to BC. I have a million acres right out my back door that's all public use. No more begging and standing in line.
