Bought new, unfired with aluminum and wood grip sets, 2 mags , adjustable white dot sights and the extra .38 special recoil spring from a fellow GNer here on the EE. I'll give a range report tomorrow .

How reliable are these guns? Do they work great or are they picky on ammo like the Desert Eagles? Ive been thinking about getting one of those for awhile.

Although I've yet to shoot it , from what I've read, they run pretty much flawlessly . A lot has to do with the design of the magazines. I'll give a range report tomorrow once I've put it throughout its paces.

i think they are quite reliable. i don"t have huge volume through mine but it has been flawless with factory 180 and 158gr. Coonan recommend a number of different 125gr.

i should add though, that with the 38 spring installed, I hear it works better with +p ammo and some regular ammo doesn't cycle reliably. i have a couple boxes of AE 130gr 38 special i will be trying soon.

To GunGuy. Ammo that is typically used in revolvers seems to have more variety in load power than the ammo intended for semi autos. At least I've found this to be the case back when I bought ammo for revolver use. So it would be fair to say that some brands and bullet weights might give some issues. But since .357Mag is certainly one round that you will quickly want to reload vs buying factory it won't be an issue since you can tailor the ammo strength to the gun.

That certainly is one very nice clean example. You did really well getting that one!
