Wait to go Pharaoh, nice snag. But, I do remember from some of your past history that you might be a bit recoil sensitive, did those nasty headaches clear up finally? I hope they did, 'cause that 45-70 might just be the one to bring 'em back. I opted for the .444 Marlin myself. Hey, if you want a nice leather bullet sleeve for that puppy, PM me and I'll talk to my buddy about making a custom one for ya. 
The headache thing is nowhere near what it used to be, but I admit my head still throbs after a day at the bench with the Tikka. This rifle isn't a target gun, this is what will come with me fishing and camping. It will see use in the Fall, and not so much at the range. And while I like the sleeve on your rifle, I'm more looking for a nice leather cartridge carrier to ride on my belt. Does your buddy build those?
Yes he can, he'll build darn near anything you want. He's a hutterite leather man, one of the best. Personaly, I like the stock sleeve because my belt is already stocked up with my knife. My jacket usually covers the belt, so the stock sleeve makes for better access to the bullets. It's a personal thing, I must admit that if I need more rounds than those already in the tube, maybe I should go home and take up knitting....
