Well like the title says I'm looking for a light weight in a 44 mag or the likes. The reason is i need a carry gun while guiding. So that means I'm going to pack it while I'm walking, cutting fire wood, cooking, cleaning animals, capeing, washing and all the unmentionables hell where I'm working ill sleep with it. The lighter the better. I was hoping for a 4.25 inch barrel but all the good Carry's seem to be 4 inch which wont work here in Canada. So I'll put the question out there please give me any info you might have.
Thanks all.

There will be a problem finding a non-prohib "light" 44. Anything toted towards that (carry) would be too short for canada. 10mm sounds OK. Maybe a chopped 357?

Oh yeah... ask Armco about their 45ACP brass. I believe they can make a 1911 set up that is pretty hot. A commander model would be handy.

You can buy a Taurus "Total Titanium" in .41MAG. It weighs only 28 oz, which is very light for a 6" revolver and comparable to the weight of a modern polymer frame semi-auto. You can then cut down the barrel to the minimum legal length and reduce the weight by another couple of ounces (and since it's just a Taurus, you wouldn't feel as guilty about chopping it up as you would have been if it was a S&W or Colt).
