Hey everyone
Im looking for a Rifle to take out to the range and mess around with , Im also wanting to get into longer range shooting 500-600 yards , I really like the Remington Model R-25 cambered in 308<

Does any body have any feed back ? Is that a restricted rifle , and what is the cost of the rifle as well ,

Thanks Sean

Semi-auto rifles are not optimal for precision shooting. As to their status, I'm not really sure if they're restricted or not. If it is, of course, you cannot use it anywhere except a range.

If you want one, buy it for its fun factor, not for its accuracy.

Have you sold anyone any kriegers to be put on R25s yet?

prof: they are restricted, can be had at fairly inexpensive prices, and might do some of that a m305 does better, but only at a range. It will almost certainly be easier on brass though. They will let you shoot at 600m, and further, but not in the same fashion that guys like Obtunded do.

It's an AR variant. Restricted. Epp's is listing 2 of 'em, one in 7mm-08, the other a .243 at $1397.70. Odd chamberings for a restricted rifle you can't use for hunting.
Goble's, here in London, is asking $1,605.00. Likely don't have one though.

Not a bad rifle. I had one and sold it. If you get one read about lubing the bolt. Mine had to be run wet to feed all ammo. Was accurate to consistantly hit the 300m gong. Never took it out past that.

Check out Milarm in Edmonton, several month back, there is 2 instock, my buddy had one, not bad for semi, shoot better than some or most bolt action, if you tune you reload, group about 1/2" or less, price was around $1400.

I like my R25, the top one in the pic. I haven't had it long enough to really wring it out yet, but it is reliable so far. I've got about 10 different types of ammo to try out to see how accurate it is.

My Remington R25 came with the worst trigger of any AR I've ever shot, but I dropped in a DPMS match trigger and that fixed it nicely. Other than the horrible trigger, my only complaint is that tacky FUGLY camo ....
the paint is soft and chips too easy.

I will probably strip the paint eventually and redo it in Duracoat, maybe adapt a smaller/lighter diameter AR 15 hand guard, and thread the muzzle for a comp.

I've owned several of the original AR 10s, Sudanese and Portuguese variants, and always liked them. I'd been looking at several of the different Modern AR 10s before I decided to go with the R25, and I personally think it is the best bang for the buck VALUE available in an AR 10.

Try one ... you will probably like it.
