What Lee "set-up" was that?

He said it was the one that used the pimer tray that had the "ski run" track down to the pin. So the next primer in the stack was sitting right at the pin with more right behind it in contact. I believe that they still use this on their lower cost progressive setups.

The other Lee style where the hinged tipping dispenser is pushed in and a primer is left in place as the dispenser swings back out would avoid such an issue of course.

Ok that means the Pro1000 and the Loadmaster are the "explosion" risks, eh? Yep, there was a thread on the reloading forum that discussed a Pro1000 that had a primer chain kaboom. Actually Lee sells explosion shields for these two presses.

OTOH, the Lee Single Stage and Turrets do not suffer from this primer kaboom issue at all. They are totally safe with any primer whether hand fed or with the Safety Prime attachment....safety glasses are still recommended, though.

I bought a STI Lawman used on EE from a fellow nut in that $1200 range. Its great and I would recommend it to anyone that is looking at a 1911 in the middle of the road range.
