I know there are a few companies that discontinued making Lever Shotguns and that Norinco makes one presently. What I'm looking for are any other companies that make Lever action shotguns as I'm interested in getting one but every site I've seen that has Norinco Lever shotguns is OUT OF STOCK and using Google I only get hits on guns that no longer are made and are darn near impossible to find and when you find them they cost more then I'm able to afford. If you know where I can find one please let me know.

Please check to make sure that they don't have it listed as OUT OF STOCK before telling me as I've probably already been there and have it bookmarked as part of my ongoing search for one.

I should mention I'm looking for something preferable in 12 gage as I want to go goose and deer hunting. But am willing to get almost any other gage that is available in lever action too.

Thanks to everyone in advance that helps me

If you are set on a lever action shotgun just remember that the norico's are modified choke only and may not pattern well wth your goose loads or as well as improved cylinder with slugs. That being said Modified is the choke you want if you only can have one.

From what I've heard the Chinese plant that manufactured the 1887 copy was sold and is "retooling" - hence the reason they're like hen's teeth to find. Hopefully they'll start up again in the near future. Really hoping I can get some bismuth loads done up for my 1901 10g for this fall.

My Norinco isn't a big fan of the cheapie Winchester slugs

Just a bead sight. On of these days I want to sit down and try loading some roundball slugs and see how they perform. A higher quality slug may print a little tighter too.

Winchester may have made some, back in 1887 or so.

They also I believe made a remake of that model of gun for a few years and stopped making them some time ago but only made a few thousand its not a common gun.

Thanks leflingeur checking it out NOW.

Well their website shows them. They sadly do not carry them anymore as it has nothing listed under 'No. Of' Thanks for the heads up. These lever shotguns are rarer then Hens Teeth in a hen house.

They didn't stop making them - they haven't even made it to store shelves yet. If I remember correctly it's either late this year/early next year. Longer barrel than the Norinco, and quite a bit more expensive from what I've heard.

sweet. Well I'll just have to keep an eye on them. Wonder what would be involved in bringing one over. Unless Marstar starts to carry the shot gun once they enter production.

FYI - they mentioned the 1887 copy Armi Sport Chiappa is coming out with this year in the latest Guns of the Old West - going to be available with a 22 or 28" barrel. The case hardened receiver looked real purty'. :D

Crazy.Kyaker: What caliber or gauge of shotgun are you looking for? There have only been a few made, the Winchester 1887 in 10 gauge and the Winchester 1901 in !2 gauge, a shotgun called the Kessler in 12 and 20, I believe in about 1950 and recently a few companies ( Norinco is one) are making a copy of a combination of the Winchester 1887 and 1901 in 12 gauge. Also both Winchester and Marlin made .410 shotguns based on their 1894 and 336 models ( I believe they are no longer made).
