Looking at getting a Semi for target(clay) , left hand and brand/model questions?

So in the near future I am looking at getting a semiauto 12 gauge . I will mostly be using it to shoot clay(possible duck at times, but not the main use)

I am a left handed shooter,right Handed everything else.( now every other firearm I own is right handed and I do fine) but for clay is a lefty a good idea ?was at a gun shop and talking to the guy there ,he knows guys who when shooting clay lefties with right hand shoguns have told him they find the shells ejecting across their front can get distracting? Any lefties find this to be true?

-Beretta A400 Xplor Unico Semi-Auto Shotgun
-Beretta A400 Xtreme 12 Gauge Semi-Auto Shotgun


Winchester;
-Winchester SX3 Semi-Auto Shotgun(no exact model decided yet , a few I like after looking into them a bit.)


So is the left handed semi a good idea for shooting clay? And any suggestions for the above mentioned models ? Looking at in and around the $2000.00 range ( the Benelli super sport is a bit high in price but would consider the extra cost with enough recommendations)
 
I'm a lefty and personally I have never had an issue with emties distracting me, I'm looking at my target not anything else. I'm not sure what is out there with left hand ejection.
 
My A400 Xcel was good to me shooting clays this year. I'd recommend it, or maybe the newer A400 Target version. Stock adjusts for left handed shooter, just safety would be backwards but you don't use a safety for shooting clays.
 
With a shotgun, the most important question is not whether you are right handed or left handed, but whether you are right eye dominant or left eye dominant.

If you are indeed left eye dominant, you can use a right handed semi, as long as the case of the stock is set for a left eye dominant person, which means cast-on, as opposed to cast-off.
 
Buy the Winchester sx3 and switch the safety and save yourself 1000 bucks over the benelli. That is what I did and love the sx3. Pretty much all browning semi and Winchester allow you to switch the safety for a leftie. Bull crap about right hand shells ejecting across your face. I had a left hand benelli sb2 and sold it and kept the gas gun. Kicks less and I use my sx3 for trap and occassional ducks. For 2000 you can buy the sx3 and mossberg 930. One gun for hunting for rabbits and one for trap. Plus the sb2 will not even cycle light 1 oz loads and is not ideal for trap as interia driven guns need at least 1 and 1/8 loads with 3 dram. Heavy trap loads. Buy the gas gun.

I really like my Winchester SX3, but my budget was about half of yours. The Winchester has a lot to offer, as it's basically a Browning Silver. I have cycled everything from #7.5 target/trap loads to 3" slugs (not the greatest idea due to the overbore barrel), and it eats it all without a hiccup. I would strongly recommend the SX3 to anyone at that price point. It comes with shims to adjust the stock, and in my hands, felt better than the Browning (YMMV).

That said, in the words of the guy behind the counter, if you could have s*x with a gun, the Benelli Super Sport is what it would feel like. I fondled it to satisfy my curiosity, and it IS a very nice gun. If you can afford it, I doubt you would regret it.
 
Lefty or righty -- forget about recoil operated guns for clays -- they don't cycle light target loads reliably at all! I'm talking Benelli, Stoeger, Franchi recoil and such.

Why wouldn't you get an O/U???
