I recently purchased a Tikka T3X TAC A1 in 6.5 Creedmoor. What "glass" would you recommend, I'm just getting started at longer range target shooting.

I was looking at a Zeiss Conquest HD 5X25 50 Lockable Target Turret Rapid Z Varmint Reticle, I like the quality of the glass and the brightness...my only concern is adjustment with the zero stop in place.

I think considering value for money, this is a good scope for me to start with...I appreciate your opinion.

Thanks,

John

What's your intended use?

I found that reticle to be too thick for target use.

I'd look into a sightron s3 or something. I'm not too up-to-date on the mid range offerings.

I have had that scope - and altho clear and built well, I have since gone with all S3's - 6-24 and 8-32 models - no regrets whatsoever.

Reticle is your call - i went with LRMOA and really like it for my uses - years ago I was skeptical with the dot, but now find its my fave.

Far as I know Zeiss v4 is at the very least on par with the older hd5 Zeiss. Thought it might have new features the hd5 doesn’t have. Zeiss v6 is the clear winner but costs more than the v4 and hd5. I’d look at the Zeiss v4 and the reticle options look good too. I like the Zeiss zmoa reticle. I might go with a zeiss v6 3-18 zmoa

I have the Zeiss V6 5-30, and highly recommend it. The Zmoa reticle is very nice to use at distance and the glass is fantastic.
Pricier then the Sightron SIIIs which I’ve owned and liked very much too, but the Zeiss V6 has better glass, turrets, and Zero Stop.
Instead of buying a scope for now, and then wanting to upgrade soon, consider possibly buying the V6 once and own it for years, and give very little to scopes running twice the price.
For a true budget scope that can’t be beat, the Sightron is excellent though.

Thanks for everyones input, I've decided to expand the budget and I've purchased a Nightforce NXS 8-32 X 56 with a MOAR-T reticle.

I'm interested in trying F-Class so I wanted second focal plane scope.

Thought I would spend a little more now, hoping to avoid having to upgrade down the road.
