To all of you AR gods. I just joined the AR building game. I know the rifle as I was issued one in the CF. What I don't know is all the different kinds of triggers that are out there. I just purchased a stripped lower from dlask. Now I want to start putting it together and I'm looking at the different sponsors sight to see what they offer. I don't know the differnce between the single stage and 2 stage triggers as well as the national match triggers. I will be using the rifle for plinking and maybe a CQB match next year if I can find the time. Also what is the difference between the gas an piston configuration. So all in all I'm realizing that I don't know the rifle that well anymore. Thanks:sniper:

I've installed the Rock River Arms (RRA) lower parts kit (LPK) from Questar (board sponsor, above) several times, and I've been happy with what I have purchased. The trigger is a standard trigger, nothing fancy. No issues, and over time those trigger smoothed out and improved. I'm told the Stag Arms LPK (available from Arms East, board sponsor, above) is good as well. If you want a custom trigger, I'd suggest Geissele, which is available from Arms East. Make sure that the trigger weight is "legal" for whatever CQB or Service Condition matches you want to participate in. The match triggers tend to be lighter than is allowed.

I used a Stag LPK on my son's AR and it's fine but I'd recommend Spikes Tactical LPK (also from Questar) and if you've got the cash you can't go wrong with Geissele triggers...absolutely fantastic...can't recommend them enough.
