I have been nursing an urge to get back into shotgun reloading, in part because I have been sheltering/moving a hoard of components for literal decades.

Among my treasures are a few oldies, and in particular I have a couple pounds of Winchester 452AA powder and close to a thousand 12-gauge Lage Uniwads. It would be great if I could find a recipe that would help use these things up.

Now, the Uniwads bag has some data on the back, but only for Dupont and Hercules powders, they are silent on Olin. And scouring the internet has brought me a couple pages of scanned 452AA data, but not a whisper about the old Uniwad.

Anybody with some old resources that might document how the twain could meet?

Back in the day [~84-87 when I shot a lot of Trap in YK] IIRC we used 20.0 gr. 452AA with Uniwads & 1 1/8 oz. of 7 1/2's, interchangeable with either WAA12 or CB1118-12 wads. It was supposed to yield 3 DR. equivalent velocities [ie. 1,200 fps], although I cannot recall anyone ever chronographing their loads. They busted clays & that's all we cared about.
