Good day all. My father has asked me to sell off his handguns for him. One of them is a remginton rand 1911 u.s army issue. I have done some reading and I'D some of the markings. I need an experts help I'm trying to figure out what parts match and what don't. I'd post pics but photobucket sucks. Any how I have pics ready for any one who can help with an email address. Thanks all in advance.

I know the guns , but I am old school and no smart phone , or picture account, but there a couple of experts here that know this stuff that can do pictures.
Any other interesting ones? steel, no plastic.

Google coolgunsite.com Remington rand there is info on the different years and there are some pictures. I have Charles Clawsons 1911 book pretty pricy 200 US for a small book, but very valuable for identifying correct parts. With the serial number you can get the year then will show what are correct parts. Pay attention to the lettering on the slide if it has New York or just N.Y. (type 1,2,3 1 very rare) and how close it is to the notch for the slide stop. Grips were different for the earlier ones, checkering vs serrated on the mainspring housing, slide stop, thumb safety, hammer. Should have FJA stamped below slide stop, often these pistols have been mixed up so it may have different lettering where the FJA should be, FJA also was stamped on Ithaca too.
