Hi, I'm looking for around 400 pieces of 308 brass to reload plinking rounds and store away. Any suggestion where I can get them? I dont mind if its once fired brass but I don't want mixed headstamp or military crimps.

I have Winchester brass that I bought new for my more accurate rounds but now im looking for some decent but cheaper brass for plinking.

Any suggestions?

Thanks! :D

and you are probably not going to want to hear this but Winchester brass is basically plinking quality brass these days. My suggestion would be to purchase some PPU or Lapua for your 'good' brass and use the Winchester brass for the plinking loads. Most so-called 1F brass is generally variable headstamp.

The OP is looking for "plinking" brass, so just about any boxer type brass is good. If loaded mildly, it should last a long time.

Yes but the op said he has winchester brass for his " accurate rounds" and wants plinking brass. So rick357 was saying to use his winchester brass as plinking brass and buy good stuff for his "accurate rounds"

like I said. Why buy more when he already has it?

That new Win brass might get three full house firings and if it hasn't split, it will likely have loose primer pockets. What Winchester used to be and what it is now are sadly not the same thing. Now, were it me buying from Budget, I would go for the Lake City brass, thoroughly clean them, deprime, ream the crimped primer pockets, full length resize, trim to length, and keep them as my primary brass. They are right up there with PPU but normally quite difficult to get in Canada. Yes, they are going to take a bit of effort but they are worth it. Run the Winchester as plinking brass.

As an aside, if I didn't have about 400 or 500 new Lapua on the shelf waiting their turn, I would buy some of that Lake City brass. I'm still sorely tempted.

Bloody 'ell, never mind; he's on holidays till Sep 4th!
