Looking for .338 Lapua in NB...

Hey all,

I am looking at purchasing a .338 Lapua rifle in the near future and I am currently trying to decide on a Sako TRG42, an HS Precision or a custom build from Rick at ATRS.

As I have fired neither of the two factory options outlined above, I figured I'd attempt to find somebody in southern NB who owns one of them and actually handle (and hopefully fire) the rifle to help me make my decision.

So, here is my question - Is there anyone from southern NB who owns a Sako TRG42 .338 Lapua or an HS Precision .338 Lapua who would be willing to meet up to allow me to handle and perhaps fire their rifle to help me out? I would be more than happy to pay for gas, ammo, lunch, and post range beers. If so, please drop me a pm and thank you.

IF you are coming through Calgary, I would be happy to let you try one here.

Both the ATR and the HS are great rifles, but for out of teh box monies, the Sako is pretty sweet.

Too bad you weren't on the island yesterday, I was firing one. I prefer my own and would suggest a custom from whomever you choose to build it if you have lots of time.

My wife shot it this weekend at 650m ~ 5" group 3 shots, she tips the scales at 110lbs and her previous experience is with .22's

I put this together for about 3000$, I'm guessing that is comparable to prices for some factory rifles. As far as accuracy I'm sure they all would do the job. A custom allows you to change things around a bit more though.

X2...I'll second that one. :bump: for Peter....But.....isn't Peter still in Lake Echo Nova Scotia..:confused:.....at least the last time I spoke to him he was...few months ago.:)
