5" bbls. for Smiths used to be sold in the US, but I don't know any source in Canada. I recently bought a S&W Model 39 and had a new, "restricted" barrel made for it by Barry Jensen of Bits of Pieces in Delta, BC. The whole process involved the owner sending the gun to Barry, Barry making a new barrel and re-registering the gun, the owner then transferring the now "restricted" gun to me, and Barry sending the gun to me.
