Winchester markets Steel loads for the .410 any Winchester dealer should be able to order it for you.

If your shooting small steel shot like 6,7, or 8, it will not matter even if the gun is old, the pellets are small, move easy, and don't bunch up at the choke. If your shooting migratory birds with bigger and heavier shot, then the up one size of choke rules takes affect. That said, even a 3 inch magnum in 410 is not a good gun for ducks and geese.
If its for chickens, I no longer use steel, it bruises the meat really bad and drags feathers into the meat. Lead holds its energy long enough to go right through, and never drags feathers. I don't like to contaminate my meat with feathers.
