Before i put an ad in the exchange i was hoping to narrow down what exactly i wanted. basically i'm Looking for a 223 that takes ar magazines and doesn't look Kline a standard assault rifle. Hoping to spend around 1000 new or used. I looked at the kel tec su16 just feels a little to cheaply made, and not interested in anything Chinese and I'm not sure what else is out there.

Well the only nonrestricted AR type ones that I know of are either below $1000 or far above it. SU16, XCR, ACR, JR, Theuron, and I think maybe the Swiss Classic. However, the last half of that list will cost you more than $2000 used unless you find the deal of a lifetime.

Oh, wait the JR uses pistol calibers. Still it might be worth a look.

He wants a .223 that doesn't look like an assault rifle (whatever that means) so that rules out AR types I assume. OP is using AR mags a must? If not I might recommend a Ruger Mini 14. It's .223 that takes detachable mags (not AR mags but look similar) and doesn't look like an AR15. Most semi .223's that take AR mags are going to look somewhat like a military style rifle. The Kel Tec will most likely be your best bet for AR mags and price range or you could look for a AR180B but you will be spending more than $1000 for one of those, but again it looks alittle ARish.

MR-1 is a good option too! Especially the new version without the pistol grip. Its more like their vinci shotgun grip, which works well if you're looking for "less AR-like" options

here is a CSA VZ-58 chambered in 5.56/.223
You can get an AR magwell adapter for $80 at zahal.org

Is it possible to buy that stock in Canada?

No, it's not available in Canada. I have contacted the supplier (service at stoegercanada.ca) and have been told it was a short production run for the Californian market. It may be available in the future but it didn't sound like they have any firm plans for it.

I have often wondered if the Comfortech stock from a Benelli Super Nova pump shotgun would be interchangeable with the MR1 stock. Anyone know if this is possible?
