Looking for a bi-pod for my russian SKS

I have been looking steadily for one myself. I actually have a WTB post for one. ATI (Advanced Technology) makes one to fit onto the bayonet lug (BIP0700). There was also one other I've found but for the life of me can't think of it right now. The only problem is NO ONE has ANY stock!!!! Hopefully you'll have better luck locating one!!

I have the ATI bipod on one of my refurbs. Really easy to mount and adjust. It feels kind of flimsy but it works perfectly for my application.

Bought this from marstar a while back. No plastic at all. It can mount a the very front of the barrel in front of the bayonet lug while the bayo is folded. If you unfold the bayo it can mount anywhere along the barrel. Works very well for me. It does have a bit of movement but I am making a slight modification to get rid of that.

NcStar SKS Bi-Pod

Mounts to the SKS bayonet lug. Requires that the bayonet be removed. Telescoping legs lock at seven positions. Legs fully open are 15 inches and 7.6" fully collapsed. Blued Steel. $30
Check out sksman for this.

Why people keep spending money on NcStar crap is one mystery.

The next is why some like to effect the point of impact via fubaring the barrel harmonics on their SKS by attaching a bi pod to the fricken barrel.

so the only answer is to have a stock mounted bipod?

i think we like to try things , i tried it , didnt like it and now use sand bag under the fore stock.

but if one needs to have a bipod (ie. no sandbags available), where should the bipod ideally be installed on? stock/ barrel/ bayo mount? i'm trying to decide on which style would benefit me the most (performance-wise) atm...

my personal opinion would be the ones that are easiest to remove , the one that can be place anywhere along the barrel so the ideal spot would be just in front of the handguard and not way out in front.

i had the bayo lug type which are not easily removeable, found them cumbersome to handle/carry , made the front too heavy , couldnt close the case and so on . get the removeable type .

i would never drill holes on a russian HG .

Id I had a refub forced match or non-matching frankenstiened rifle I would just install a harris bi-pod to the stock. It come's off & one easy and it make life alot funner when out in the back country. So Calum does having a bayonet & cleaning rod affect the point off impact all so? Would like to know for the up coming sks gong shoot.
