looking for a browning a bolt, or x bolt need help?

Seriously they are not that hard to find unless your in the middle of the Pacific Ocean or something.

I've owned and own bolt rifles from Winchester, Remington, Savage, Ruger and Mauser. I am extremely happy with the A-Bolt I've had for 20 years. Solid, accurate, dependable.....
If you could offer up reasons NOT to buy one, that might actually be helpful.

I have a 1988 Browning bolt in .270 and have never found a reason to look further. Quality, accurate , trouble free and will put down any big game animal , if I do my part. Big name, big money and big caliber does not mean the biggest and best in everyones hands. Comfort, fit and control help make a good shooter.
Why? Cuz, to me there are better options.
For myself, I find the Browning is too small; I'm in the big & tall section, I guess. I think for a smaller person or a woman maybe they'd be pretty decent. I can barely get a hold of the bolt handle...
I do think they are well built however.
The only Browning I would buy, would be one of the M-1886 re-pro levers. Those are wicked good.
The best value in a bolt action rifle today, hands down, is the M-70 Winchester. I consider the CZ-550 to be the next best thing to the Winchester.
Ruger M-77 is another nice rifle.
So I'd look at them in that order; M-70, CZ-550, M-77.

^ I'm not talking about "what I read"... my Dad had a .30-06 A-Bolt. I'm very familiar with those rifles. I picked up a new X-Bolt a while back and couldn't believe how tiny the rifle felt to me; it just doesn't fit me. The bolt handle is way too small etc...
But I do think they are well built, so if the rifle suits you, if it feels good in your hands, balances properly, then by all means, buy 10 of 'em... we need more gun sales!!

I am undecided too.... Is the Ruger All American on the shelves yet? I am considering an X-bolt on 30-06 but the Ruger American looks fantastic in the magazines.
