Looking for a Classic Red Ryder, not a repro.

Your best bet would be to put a wanted add in your local classifieds, the exchange of all other stuff here on cgn. And try the canadian air gun forums. I'd like to find one in really good shape for my son he's turning 3 in sept so I have a while to find one.

Good luck, not many want to part with theirs, but try putting an ad in the EE.
I got one from the States, a while back, from the original owner, he received it for his birthday in 1947.
It didn't shoot worth $#i+ when I got it, broken spring and dried seals.
I found an original flat spring and lubed the seal, it shoots fine now.
I got it from the now defunct BB Airguns Auction site for about $110us shipped. KD

A new one is like $29. Huntress & I have one each for camping & having fun. Yes, her's has PINK furniture...

I doubt it's the same quality as the old ones & it's now made in China. Yes, you read that right, THE American classic BB gun is now made in China!!!

Ugh...

Cheers

Ok, the reason I asked was that I heard a few different prices, from $30 all the way to $50:eek: I have one NIB(70th anniversary mod.) I was thinking I may put up in the EE but did not want to rip anyone off, or myself for that matter.

They switched to Chinese manufacture recently, yes, but you can still find USA made ones on the shelf at some stores. The USA made models (assembled in the USA from US and Chinese parts) are packaged in a cardboard box, the Chinese in clamshell.
I recently picked up the last 2 USA models they had at a WalMart in NY, $17 a piece. They sell for $47 at WalMart Canada. If I find any more at that price on my American travels I'll buy all I can get and store them for my great great grand kids. :) They shoot quite well actually.

Too funny, I did the exact same thing a few week ends ago, except there was around five left on the shelf. I figured two would be good enough. My daughter loves shooting it.
