Looking for a good, all around Hunting Rifle

Easy...a Tikka T3 Lite 30-06. For the price they are the smoothest, most accurate factory rifle on the market.

Agree on Ts as well; however, if you want to shoot year round don't get the lite/superlite stocks, they pound your shoulder.

It's the Hunter's Delight Magazine! It's removeable in a hurry, if conditions should suddenly occur!

The M77's are all they can be in every way, but sadly they are lacking this fine feature!

An M1917 sporter, aka: "Remington Model 30" would be as functional as any other in .30-06 and should cost $350 or less. One of the strongest actions ever made with one of the best safety catches too.

Newer is not necessarily better.

I see there's a nice looking one on the EE now for $275., search for "enfield" and ".30-06"

And there is nothing wrong with this choice either, I really enjoy my 30-30s and they can still account for a lot of hunting.
