Greetings CGN, I'm Jason, 28, living in Nanaimo, Vancouver Isalnd.

I've sent in all my paper work for my PAL and PRAL last week, the main reason I signed up for my license is my grandfathers armory will be passed down to me. Aside from holding on to the family's treasure I'm mainly looking to getting my self into bird hunting and clay disk shooting, I'm still debating about joining a pistol group at the range. I've been snooping around the stores in town and online (yes the sponsors as well) at clay disk throwers, and I'm wondering if it'd be a better idea to seek out a group of people who go clay shooting regularly or just buy my own thrower not knowing if I'll actually like it or not. I don't have many friends who actually have their own license and guns (just my boss and uncle in town) and clay shooting seems it would be much funner in a group rather than solo.

Main reason I made this thread is to seek out a mature group, or info on where I may find a mature group in my area or would my best bet to ask at my local firing range? Also is there a place to possibly find used throwers?

Thanks for all the help :) Look forward to spending time on these forums.

"...at the range..." No skeet/trap at your club? Ask at your local gun shops about skeet/trap clubs.
"...place to possibly find used throwers?..." Hi. The hand held throwers are cheap. Crappy Tire and Walmart have 'em, starting at $7. Wally World has manually operated ground throwers starting at $75. The electric type used at ranges cost a big pile of money.

As to what gun I plan on getting, I have my heart set on a 12g Benelli M4. I've been told not to due to semi shotguns and jamming are not fun, anyone care to insure me the m4 is a good shotgun and fill me in on some info on what to expect when a shotgun jams?

Thanks.
