Hey fellas,

like description says,I'm looking for a gunsmith in the GVRD(I live in Abbotsford) to mount a Choate scope mount to my sks D. Any input would be appreciated.

thank you

If you do it yourself (I did) the tricky part is lining up the four holes you drill with the mount. Also the receiver wall is fairly thin so be careful drilling/tapping. Use loc-tite after. If you are handy and have a decent drill press its do-able. The screws provided were a weird size, I was able to get the right drill and tap, but you could sub in a more standard size.

I installed a Promag Mount, similar to the Choate and the screws are a non standard size as well. That said, I was able to order through Cabela's online with no issue. took less than a week to get here. Measure twice drill once, and take your time and all will be fine :).

I thought about doing it myself but I don't own a drill press.I'm guessing it will cost close to $100.00? about the price of a cheap press.aaahh dilemma's.....Thanks for the advice, much appreciated!
