My buddy has smallish hands and settled on one of the Sig 226 variants. Perhaps the new striker fired Sig might fit the bill.
Looking for a handgun with slim/small grips-any suggestions?

Small hands? Prefer striker fired style in polymer? Check out the Ruger SR-9. One of the more compact grips on any gun shooting center fire ammo. If the single stack 1911's fit you well then you will like the SR-9.
You bought a Glock 22? Even with my larger hands I find all the older generation Glocks to feel like holding a 2x4. The new Gen 4's with the nicer shaped back strap fillers feel better. They are still "fat" but the front and back straps on the Gen 4's are more rounded so they fit better. They are still a gun for those with medium or larger size hands though.

Wow thanks for all your guys input! Looks like I'm not the only one with this issue. I think my best bet is to hold off on purchase online until I get the chance to go to a major city like Vancouver ( I live in northern BC ) to just handle some of the firearms you guys have listed, I'm defiantly a sig fan when it comes to AR's and I like the look of their p226, if I could find a glock that fits me better I would jump on that as well purely because of their unquestionable reliability, and rugers I've always liked of which I have a sp101 and several rifles, so maybe the SR9 would be a good fit. Lastly I like the Walther as well, I've handled the ppq and the trigger was very nice, but I am nota fan of threaded barrels, hate the look, don't understand our asinine gun laws that force us to have 'Canadian' barrels'. But that's a whole other can of worms.
If you're going to do that then be sure to hit up DVC in Coquitlam. It's a commercial Rent-A-Gun range and last I saw they had a Ruger SR9 that you can try. It's not the cheapest way to shoot but you get to try a bunch of different guns they have and can walk away knowing exactly what you want. Do be sure to contact them and pick a time when they aren't too busy. That way you can shoot a mag or two from one gun and then swap it for another. That'll reduce the cost of your visit and ensure you have more guns to try because they won't be out on the line with someone else already. You won't get out of there for under $100 for the drop in and a few boxes of ammo to try the guns. But the chance to try out a half dozen or more different brands and models one after the other is a rare opportunity and worth every penny.

And odd though it may seem at first glance a lot of small hand folks also like the CZ. In this case it's related to the way the frame is stepped down at the rear so the grip resembles an egg with the pointy end towards the back So it's fat in front and skinny at the rear which seems to work out for small hands.
Glocks have always felt "fat" to me even with my large size hands. And Beretta 92's are UBER fat. Sig's P226 is sort of in the middle between the fat feeling guns and the skinny feeling guns so you might or might not like how they feel. Part of this is how they make room for the decocker which has to fit under the grip scale on the one side. So it can't be made all that thin.
When you're shopping around do look for and try holding a Browning Hi Power. There's a few of these in the stores currently and lots of folks report that they work well for smaller hands as well as large. To me they felt much like my CZ's. And that's fine praise since CZ's fit feel so nice.

For the 226 get the E2 grips. They were purposely designed to make the 226 work with smaller hands.
The sig p320 is actually my 'most interested' one, and I almost purchased it online recently..... I just thought the grip is like glock fat...but then again I haven't held one. Anyone have one of those?
I have the sig 320. Wifey likes it so much she calls it her gun. It comes with the medium frame/grip. I think the grips are less than $100. Im planning on getting the small one to see if it fits her hand even better. It is nice that it is not just a changeable backstrap.

I have a S&W SD9VE in 9mm. Great for small hands. It is also is thin and quite lite. Cost is $430.00 cdn. Was at the Cabelas in Moncton N.B. and got a Glock slip on grip for $12.00. Some people have a problem with the trigger but it seems to be getting better with use.I have 525 rounds through it and shoots nice at 25 meters. I have shot the Browning 380 and it is smaller in size and caliber but cost around $700.00.
Are sig p320 Compacts availible in Canada anyone? If so do they have the 'Canadian threaded barrel'?
