Looking for a magazine for a .22 ZBROJOKA BRNO N.P

If it's the bolt action rifle any of the polymer or steel new manufacture one will work. The most common size is either 5 or 10 rounds.

Tesro and Nordic Marksman have them.

I had a BRNO No. 1 - stamped on barrel and receiver that it was "55" - had a 10 round metal magazine - that magazine would fit and work perfectly in a CZ 452 Scout and a CZ 452 Silhouette - but I noticed when I bought extra magazines that retailers had a different part number for magazines for CZ 453 rifles. It was some years ago, but all of the CZ 452 mags worked fine in the BRNO and the BRNO metal mag worked fine in the CZ 452's. I never owned a 455, or 457, so I do not know about them.

I have a 452 and one 455 currently; I have owned about 5 455 over the years and even a Brno #4; all 5 and 10 round mags worked in all refiles.

Maybe to clarify for OP - and this might be a bit fuzzy of my recollection - but I think there were at least two models of .22 rifle made at BRNO - I believe CGN person DGY had one type stamped "tgf" and I had another type with a CZ logo - different markings on the receiver tops - different size dovetails for the rear sight. I currently have a BRNO Model 2 - so stamped on top of barrel ahead of the rear sight - there is a "Z" within a spiral - as if the "Z" was "floating" in a rifled bore. Then the word "BRNO". Then "MOD 2". The barrel and receiver have a funky proof mark each, stamped about 3:00 o'clock (looking along barrel back towards receiver) - (would be 9:00 o'clock looking along receiver toward barrel) - then "72" - which I believe is the year it was made. There is nothing stamped on the left rear of this receiver, although I believe that MOD 1 from 1955 had stuff stamped there - in two lines - but I do not recall what was written there - not in English language, as I recall. On this made-in-1972 receiver - on right side - it says (in English) "Made in Czechoslovakia".

The 1972 MOD 2 has a metal body 5 shot magazine that inserts and clips easily into the CZ 452 Scout. The CZ 452 Scout receiver has "11", so I believe it to have been made in 2011. I no longer have either Silhouette rifle here - I think one was stamped "14" (2014) and I simply do not recall about the other one (perhaps it was "08"). However, the 5 round magazine and the single shot magazine from the CZ 452 Scout are "snug" to insert into the MOD 2 - they appear to get really tight just before latching - I never tried to feed dummy rounds through any of them. I had to use a wide body screw driver to back out the 5 round 452 magazine from the MOD 2, while holding the latch back. I am reasonably certain that if you sourced a magazine for a CZ 452, that will work in your rifle - or would require minimal sanding to fit ...

I've tried the new polymer ones in my BRNO bolt rifles and they do not work.

Don't work because it's too tight? Won't latch? Won't feed?

I always thought that they were interchangeable, but I could be wrong. Maybe try a metal one (they make both). Having to do a little bit of fitting is fairly common, but not very difficult.

Wouldn't latch in. I don't recall which model cz the fellow had. I was kinda disappointed was hoping for a supply of spare mags.

Ya that's frustrating. I bet you could get it to work with some minor fitting. If you look from the top when you're inserting the mag, you should be able to see if it's bottoming out before the latch engages. If this is the case, relieve some plastic or metal so that it can be pushed in a tiny bit further. If it is not bottoming out, but won't insert any further (and won't latch) you could apply the same principle to the catch on the front of the magazine. Basically, you can't do anything about the position of the latch, but you can relieve the catch a bit so that it clicks in.

It's an easy job once you wrap your head around the geometry of the pieces and how they click together. I've done this on a few mags without too much trouble.

The big consideration is the cost/risk if you can't get it to work - no way to return a magazine once you've started filing away at it. That's why I start with a cheaper plastic one. Plastic is, of course, also easier to tool than metal.

Good luck
