Looking for opinions on what spotting scope I should get. I like best bang for your buck but I don't wanna cheap out. Will be using it at 200 plus yards, Possibly up to 800 yards at range.

I wanna spend under $1,000. Range and hunting use.

Thanks!

mid-high end spotting scope and under $1,000 doesn't mash. Lower-mid end spotting scopes start at $1000 and up (ie Vortex Viper HD). Higher-mid end spotting scopes start at around $1800 - $2000 (ie Vortex Razor HD / Nikon Monarch); high end start at $3000 and up (ie Swaro ATS )

What do you want it to do? See bullet holes or read mirage?
What type of shooting? Plinking? TR? PRS?
Do you want something with a reticle?

Answering these questions can help narrow down what you’re looking for. Kowa is a good brand, so is Pentax. I’ve heard great things about the vortex spotters, but I’ve never looked through one.

For under 1000 I have been impressed with the Bushnell Legend T 15-45x60. It also has a mil dot reticle, very compact, rugged and a surprisingly good piece of glass 9f you can find one. They typically sell pretty fast. I believe Wanstalls has them currently for about $650
