I think it's time I replace my dinky crosman phantom :)

I'm looking for a pal rated .22 spring powered rifle, side cocking prefered. It would be used for plinking around so a magnum springer isn't needed but I would still like it to have a lil power under the hood... (700-800fps). It must be accurate, have a decent trigger pull and not be extremely hold sensitive... my budget is $200

Does such a springer exist in that price range or should I just save up and get a diana or weihrauch?

Air Gun Source has the Bam B-28 break barrel in .22.It's a RWS 350 copy that i hear is a very good for the $230.00 price tag. You'll be pretty hard pressed to get a magnum springer for under $200.00.Let alone one that's any quality or worth the money.

You just described a Diana 54 to a "T"...until you said this:

Get a Crosman 2289G and mod the pants off it. You should get close to 800fps with a 21" barrel from a 2260, flat face piston, tuned valve, porting and modified probe. A steel breech kit will give you the option of mounting a scope. If you are the handy type this can be done for less than $200.

That one doesn't look half bad, "A powerful spring powered airgun that shoots 1,000 fps in .22"

I wonder what the real numbers are... it can't be 1000

They're a little more expensive, but if you get a piston driven airgun, they'll pay you back in the long run by being generally nicer to use.

www.dlairgun.com has piles of stuff, if you hadn't already checked it out. I kinda skimmed this thread.

It'll have info on what I'm talking about too. Can't remember what brand it is, but Theoben (in the UK) has had piston airguns for a long time. They (airgun companies) are just starting to get the picture here.
