Looking for a pistol scope - any advice?

I'm looking for a pistol scope for my Ruger Mark 4 Tactical 22LR. I am thinking a Leupold FX 2 Handgun scope 4x28.

While I enjoy target shooting with Iron sights, I think it would be cool to try out a pistol scope, and I would prefer it over a red dot.

Is there any other pistol scopes out there that would be a good choice? I have only bought two scopes for my rimfire rifles and am fairly new to optics.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Pistol scopes are challenging to shoot, Bushnell makes or perhaps made a nice 2-6 Bushnell elte scope, they pop up on the EE from time to time for around $200.00
Red dots are easier to shoot off hand.

I had a Ruger Single Six with a pistol scope and found it way challenging to shoot off hand, that I mainly just shot it bench.

I prefer reddots. Get the smallest MOA you can get. I run 3MOA on my pistols and have no issues shooting out to 100m with them.

Goto a gun store and ask to look thru a Long eye relief scope. Then hold it up like a pistol and try and aim at a target. You will be chasing it around, then it slow to re acquire the target.

Then you have a much smaller field of view, unlike with a traditional eye relief scope.

Hi. I use a couple of Simmons 4x pistol scopes. One is on a Beratta 87 and the other a Ruger Blackhawk 357. I find them to be a decent scope, hold zero fine. Also have a Nikon zoom, sorry forgot the range. I believe it to be "new, old stock" as I have never seen another one. As others have said, you will find that you have to use a rest.
You might see about using a scout type scope, these have a long eye relief and might work. Perhaps go to Rim Fire Central and see what those guys can suggest for you. Found them to be an excellent resource for all things rim fire.
