Lol not once did I say show up at someones door with a firearm in hand. Maybe you should all read that again. Letting strangers on their land with a firearm is a liability, and potentially a risk to their families health. Good luck knocking on the doors of my neighbors, I all ready know they don't take random people. Even the larger hunting camps I know my friends and family use further north only allow those in who they have ties to through other members of the camp or family, door knockers are the last people they would let hunt their land. I don't know what part of Ontario the rest of you live in, but this walking through rural Canada asking to hunt doesn't work where I'm from. I work with mostly hunters, not one hunts on land they got access to through walking doors like some salesman. It's labor intensive, and the least likely place your going to get a yes. You've had success? Good for you, I haven't and by asking around I know for a fact non of the properties near me would allow a random to hunt their land that just showed up at their door. And not one hunting camp I know of will bring in a random but hey I guess my experiences must be wrong and the word I've gotten from the hunters in my area must also be incorrect. I'm not saying it's impossible as a general rule but you all make it sound like walking doors for years trying to build relationships up so that they actually allow you to is the easiest way. It's possibly the most labor intensive, and time consuming of all the routes available.
