What gun do you hunt with? Depending where you are, you can only hunt with shotguns (with slugs) or rimfire. HP firearms are not allowed in many jurisdictions due to concerns of "over penitration". This is not to be confused with what women complain about...

I'm not sure where they draw the line.

Well I know every one calls ontario the #######.

But we are a weee bit bigger than that. If you narrowed down your location it may help

That's all fine, but like everyone said...WHERE IN ONTARIO ARE YOU GOING TO HUNT! It does make a difference. You have to be more specific if you want help.

I am already fully equiped. I'm looking for a place to hunt in SW Ontario? That would be property to hunt on, Permission? Hunt camps? etc.

Regards

Pete

No one gives a #### if your fully equiped. If your not willing to narrow down the area or give more info on the area you would like to hunt, don't be suprised if no one answers you

From Wikipedia
Southwestern Ontario is a region of the Canadian province of Ontario, centred on the city of London. It extends north to south from the Bruce Peninsula on Lake Huron to the Lake Erie shoreline, and east to south-west roughly from Kitchener to Windsor.

So, seeing that driving from one end of SW Ontario to the other end would take 4-5 hours maybe you should narrow it down a bit.

Like I wrote, I just moved here & don't know the area, camps, famers, land owners, etc. So the flambasting and sarcasm is not appreciated. Driving a few hours hasn't been a problem with me.

I am looking at WMU 91A, 92D, 92A, 86A, 86B, but other areas near London are fine.

If you can help me out, Thanks, I appreciate your help. PM me.

Some small county woodlots in Middlesex where hunting is allowed.

About half way down the page is the part about hunting.

The links for the maps are on the right

Greetings, here's a couple places to get started.

Gold Creek is a private pheasant farm just west of London. You have to pay to play.

Hullet Marsh is a very large public wetland north of London for waterfowl, deer and they also release pheasants.

Long Point is also a public marsh. I have not hunted there but I understand that you better be able to call to be successful.

These are a few to help you get started. Other than that, you will need to make friends with farmers in the area. Deer are everywhere. Fielding hunting geese is also very good if you can find the right spot.

Good luck and welcome to the area.

Welcome to Ontario, I don't know of many hunt camps in the area but there are many small public woodlots to hunt.

That being said, the most common approach seems to be knocking on farmer's doors and politely asking permission to hunt on their land. If you can get 5-10 properties to hunt on, you should be able to go after whatever you want.

Good luck!

Ok the best way to find a place to hunt is figure out what you want to hunt. Research the habits of your quarry and look on a good topo map of your area. Fill the truck up with gas and go for a drive then repeat several times until you locate whatever your after, then knock on the door if they don't own the land they might know who does. Your going to get some no's, no biggy keep driving. Do this for a few weeks to a month and you should have a few good spots to hunt. Make sure you get a hold of a hunting regulations book and read it front to back!!!! Slayer

WOW! see what being a little bit more specific gets you. If you like ducks, Longpoint seems to be "THE" place to go. There is public access and there are a few huntcamps down there too.
