Looking for a precision rifle?

Have you checked with the CF medical board? Are you sure you really need the surgery to get in? I think combat arms can be a V3 or V4... Just make sure you aren't throwing away $ for no reason.

A friend of mind that was in the PPCLI (Infantry) has glasses almost like Bubbles on Trailer Park Boys and he had no problem, if you were trying for Pilot (MSE Op Air) that would be different.

combat arms is V3. Last i tried i got V4 and decided not to join if i couldnt be in the combat arms. I'll check again but i'm pretty sure that's the case.

My glasses would be pretty thick too if i didnt have em thined

Further more, my vision is worse now than last time i passed teh test( 5 years ago), so i might even be a V-5 now.

Go for the laser surgery... Nothing worse than trying to keep glasses clean and fog-free in the field. With your new found wealth in the CF, you can buy a new gun and play with all of theirs (and the free ammo) to boot.

I celebrated my successful laser surgery by going out and buying a $3.00 pair of sunglasses. Guns come and go. Eyes are forever.

I hate glasses. Can't wear sunglasses in the summer without A. seeing nothing or B.spending a load of cash to get prescription sunglasses. Plus they always fog up in teh winter, wich is a PITA

If your going for a pilot, save your money (unless its done in the states and you lie which is a dishonourable discharge if your busted). I don't think any other departments care unless you are leagaly blind. If you do get it done, there is about a 5% chance of going night blind due to the circular nature of the laser incisions. I have glasses and though they are a pain in the butt, I don't get any haloing (I know 3 people who have had their eyes done using different methods, and all three have haloing to varying degrees. I would advise you to make sure its nessecary before getting it done.

I just have 2 things to say:

1- I got my eyes "done" a few years ago (3-4-5 years ago, cant remember) and I never regretted it. No halo's whatsoever. My eyes are bionic. Allthough, I did take the most expensive surgery possible (which was the best, by far, obviously). It's a little harder on the wallet but your eyes is for a lifetime. How often do you use your eyes in a day? stupid question but I just hope it makes yall realise how important your eyes are, if you want to skimp on price, buy a savage, or a Kia, or... Don't go to the dollars store to get your eyes fixed. If I remember correctly, it cost me around 3.5k for both eyes, which a good part of that is tax deductible anyways.

2- I've had the chance of shooting that rifle, all I can say is whoever will buy it will get a sweet gun.:D :D Cant you find a second job(part-time) for a couple months and keep the rifle? you will regret selling it... :(

No i cant unfortunatly. I dont think i will regret selling it. If i want another .308, i think i'll go for the savage with mcmillan stock next time. Or an FN SPR. Or just go full custom?

Maybe he wants to be a sniper or being optimistic for his options..I dunno, but I had my eyes done 6 years ago with no regrets..
I can tell you this, having glasses in the infantry sucks big time.

Well i just had it done yesterday. As soon as teh operation was done, i was seeing as ''good'' as i was seeing in grade 6 before i got my first glasses. Good news is i have no halos what-so-ever. I cant speak about the full results just yet, but even right now, it was fully worth it.

Had the same effect as you after surgery, be aware that lightstreets at night will be brighter than before, but stabilizes after 6 months+

Congrats!

I had my 10 year PRK anniversary this week. I have 20/10 binocular vision and I have nothing but praises to sing. Swimming, rain, snow, and even coming in from the cold all made having glasses a pain in the arse.
