My oldest son really doesn't like the stock on his Stevens 200 in .22-250. It's a newer one with the in line blind mag. Will a stock from a Savage with the same mag fit it? Anyone no where to find a plain wooden Savage take off stock here in Canada or a reasonably priced after market one? I was wondering if the plain wood ones are available from Savage themselves? It's a great gun just a bit of a wimpy stock when used with bi pods. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Tim

Welcome to the world of Savage Centerfeed stock replacment.

Not a bunch of options yet. You could always get a smith to import you one. It would be nice if Boyds made one in Ceneterfeed that they could ship but they dont. SSS used to ship North but again don't anymore.

Keep your eyes open on the EE and something may pop up. Getting them stateside requires an importer. Stocky's Stocks has em but they don't ship north, so again if you get a smith to they may be able to import one, but that gets expensive fast.

I went through this last fall.
Boyd's said they were in the making of a stock to fit the Stevens 200 in line mag.
It was supposed to be available last October.
I didn't wish the wait and ordered a autumn leaves laminate out of Richard's Microfit.
Just under $150 canadian to our BC door.
Maybe give Boyds a call and see if they came through with their promise of making the 200 in line mag stock?
This one from Richard's is nice but is going to need a few rolls of sand paper.
If you're interested in seeing this one, send me pm and I'll send you a few photos.
Cheers.

Uhmmm....... i put two boyds thumbhole stocks on Stevens 200, 223 and 7-08 last year - they were $92 usd and delivered to my door. I did have to redrill the forward screw about 1/8 inch and filled the old hole with JB weld.
It was a drop in fit other than the 30 seconds it took me to drill the hole!

Here's as far as I got, photos anyways...

Sorry for the crappy pictures, best I can do.
Pink cammo strap belongs to my daughter as it is her rifle.

Thanks for the replies and thanks for the pictures Luke. Are the guns you guys putting stocks on the the 22's with the inline feed or center feed mag? Or are they the normal cross stack blind. I'm being told there are now stock available for the inline feed.

Thanks
Tim
