Hi

I live around the Ottawa area. I would like to try Sporting Clays at the Stittsville Range, but I have never done SC it yet, let alone shot there. I would like to go with someone that has been there before. Any takers:D

Thanks

I'm certainly no pro, but I've shot SC a couple of times; maybe if we set up a group day so a bunch of us in the Ottawa area can all go at once?

count me in, SDC will vouch for me when I say any flying target in front of me is relatively safe. Last time I shot at Stitsville a round of 50 targets was $20.00 and I had a bal. lokking forward to it.

If you want to shoot some 5 stand, come out to the NCRRA Shotgun Section at Connaught. Sundays starting at 9:30am until about 14:00. 5-stand has been pretty steady for a while now.

Hi

5 stand is????? Trap???

Forgive my ignorance, Other than blasting away at pesky pigeons, I have limited experience with the shotgun sports but I have done a bit of trap.

I would like to try Sporting Clays at St**sville, I have some friends that would probably like to try also, but I would like to shoot with someone who has shot there before, even if it was only once. If a bunch of us gunnutz want to make a day of it and have a get together there and shoot SC, hey that would be cool:D

5-stand is like a "quickie" version of sporting clays, that combines two skeet houses with a rabbit, teal and pheasant target thrower, so at any one of 5 shooting stations, you'll get 5 targets (maybe a teal and a rabbit, a high house and a low house, then a rabbit). The targets change from each stand. The usual form of sporting clays is more like a walk in the woods, with stops at each shooting station where everyone takes the same targets in turn. NCRRA has a nice 5-stand set-up that'll give you a taste of the sort of targets you'd see in any sporting clays round, but it usually runs faster and is less expensive than regular SC.

What's the cost to join the Connaught range? What will a round of 5-stand cost?

To Join the Shotgun Club at Connaught, which includes Trap, 5-stand, wobble skeet and regular skeet, a year's membership is $190/year.

Members shoot for $4.50 /round. Guests shoot for $6.00/round.

A buddy and I where at the Stittsville range last sunday (rifle) and we definetly want to go back for some skeet, trap and maybe some sporting. I did a few rounds last year (trap and skeet) and I'll say one thing, I need alot more practice :D If I remember corectly, its 7$ per round (25 clays) for non-members for the trap or skeet. The ammo is not included, but they sell some cheap target loads on site.
