So I'm trying to restore a Cooey carcano and I really want an original stock can any body help I've been looking all over and no luck, the one company that prob have one said they don't ship to Canada :( pls help

Ship the stock to a UPS store in the US and go grab it, or have someone you know reship it.

Or post an ad on the equipment exchange here

I believe that Springfield Sporters has correct Italian Fucile 91 stocks, but they do not ship to Canada. These are original Italian military stocks.

There WAS NO stock for the Cooey Carcano; all were Italian military stocks which had been converted.

The pistol-grip was made from a piece of the chopped Forestock of the original rifle. Likewise, the Cleaning Rod Channel was plugged with a piece of this same Forestock.

Photographs will show you precisely what the results looked like.

Following the actual conversion work, the wood was stained and finished.

You are in for a bit of a job. Take heart, though: if it could be done 85 years go, it can be done today!

Hope this helps.

Just thinking (I do that, once in a while, you know!): it is possible that a stock for a TS might be less work, even though not QUITE s historically correct.

I will get into my Carcano stuff in a while and post again in THIS post to let you know.

Don't spend money in the meantime!

You could just buy another Cooey Carcano, or advertize on the EE for a stock.

These guns are typically $100-150 items, and are fairly numerous. I've never seen any evidence related to the number produced, but based on how many seem to have survived the 80 or so years since they were manufactured, there had to have been more than 1000 produced IMO.
