I have searched endlessly in varying search forms here.

Last year I think, there was a huge thread on the Norinco M4/CQA being used by someone here as well as the range, match, shooting report.

Long thread I think. And the placed very well.

Help is appreciated.

Can't help you with the thread but for ORA CQB, the champions for the last too seasons have being shooting Norincos. Also for 2011 the highest individual score for the season was shot with a Norc. They just kind of work.

But really the brand name on the side of the receiver does not matter. It is the shooter that makes the rounds find the middle of the target.

Totally got you on that.

I haven't come out of the closet publicly yet, that I took possession of a New Norc M4 CQA last week.

Ive been getting some ribbing at work, but for now it works for me.

Until I learn and build from there.

Tell them to go stuff it and have fun with your new toy!!

As Bolivar said the rifles work and you can compete at a top level with one!!

He is also being modest as he was the CQB champion this year using his, so he knows of what he speaks!!!:D

Like I said, it gets me in, and that is the point.

I may, as time goes on, just build on the internals from there.

Im happy, but also get my feelings hurt easily by my peers. :)

So what type of competition are you planning on doing with you Norc?

Do your work buddies shoot and compete too?

You can get them back a bit maybe. You will be getting more points for less dollars spent.

As far as internals, I was having a bit of trouble with my Norc this year. Caused me to really screw up in a match. I had replaced the stock Norc trigger with a used RRA. That was causing doubling and s**t as the dis-connector was not engaging correctly. Went back to the stock Norc trigger (complete with Para-cord trigger job) and I haven't had a hiccup since.

About the only lasting "issue" I have had is that bolt won't lock back if I use a B.A.L. lever. So I don't use the B.A.L. No real loss there IMO. :)

My advice is to take your "crappy" Norc, add Pmags and shoot the crap out of it. Smiles are a common side effect.

Can you tell my wife that last part please? :D

Ah, I'm no expert. I've only completed in CQB for a single season. I got lucky to edge 2nd place by a single point on that last match of the season. If you want to do well, I'll tell you what worked for me. Watch and learn from Ganderite. My scores took a big jump once I did that.

Ill be doing 3 gun, Service Rifle, CQB.

This is about the only hobby I have left that has survived over the years, and the only one that interests me frankly.

If it works, it works. Doesn't need to be pretty.

Get out there and shoot that Norc M4... like several of the previous champions from the ORA CQB series! They even shot Norinco 1911 pistols, too!
