I'm looking for a Serbian made P226-style pistol called CZ99. They were a dime a dozen over there last i remember, but i haven't really heard much about them here. The CZ stands for Crvena Zastava (Red Flag). I think the company is now called Zastava Arms. ANyhow, any info on availability of these pistols in Canada is amuch appreciated. Thx !!

The distribution on these has been hit and miss. They are very hard to find in Canada, and fairly tough in the US. Decent guns that are all steel and will stand up to the abuse.

BTW what part of Serbia are you from?

hmmm....i was affraid of this. looks like getting one here could be a problem. damn... ah well...i'll just get a cheap little tokarev t33 to reminisce

Districorp had several for sale 3 or 4 years ago for $500 a piece IIRC. For that price, you could get a real SIG p220 refurb instead of a clone.

yeah.. i know i could have the original, but the reason i want this one is because it has sentimental value on top of being a good copy

Cz-99

I had one and sold it in a moment of stupidity.
That thing had tritium combat sights standard, was fully ambidextrous and had a very effective combination slide release/decocker lever.
It was a very good, rugged pistol.
PP.:)

I'm sure that if the fine folks at Marstar thought that there was a good market (both import and export) they'd do it; but I was hoping for was someone that would walk into a gunshop in Belgrade, negociate a good price on 3 or 4 pistols, and then do the export paperwork. A retired uncle with strong bargaining skills sort-of-a-situation.

If you try this don't get mixed up with the CZ99 Precision that is a .22 rimfire bolt action rifle. A very well made and incredibly accurate rife, BTW.

I have plenty of family over there including an ex-cop uncle. If it wasn't too much work on their end I could possibly set something up... but if its too much of a hassle for them to do I'd rather not even ask.

Darko, that's part of the point. No one knows how much of a hassle it is to do the export part. It might be easy (fill out some paperwork, and wait) or hard (fill out lots of paperwork, wait, pay, lots more paper, more money, more waiting).
We also need to find out what sort of coin we'd be looking at for freight and insurance.
