looking for advice - 1 powder for 308/223/45-70

Any one powder will not be ideal for all.
Efficient powders for the 308, like Varget, 4320, 4895, etc, will be OK for heavy loading of your 45-70 also, but I think you should have something faster for the 223, but I can't recite off loads for the 223 with the various weight bullets.

IMO Varget is a fantastic powder for .223. I've had great success with BLC(2) in my .223, but I find it sensitive to temperature. My sub MOA loads worked up in the summer don't shot very well in the winter (closer to 2 MOA ).

Varget for sure, with 60 grain and heavier bullets it's fantastic in the 223. I've seen first hand what extreme temp spreads do to IMR powders in Labrador, Varget will do the job for sure...
