Hi folks, a new person here. If this is the wrong forum, please let me know and I will move this post.

I currently own a Lithgow L1A1 in very good condition. Matching numbers, all original. Problem is that I have let my POL expire (kids, life, travel, but still my fault) and I now have to get rid of it.

I am torn between having it deactivated, or selling it and buying a non-restricted M14 that I can actually shoot without ten separate forms filled out in triplicate...

Having been away from firearms for about 10 years, I am not sure the market for a rifle like this. As I understand from a couple calls to the CFP, I can sell it to another holder of a prohibited licence. What can I expect to sell a rifle like this for?

thanking you,
David

At best, $500. So few people can still own them, and those that can, already have nice ones.

As a dewat, it might be worth more. Sad but true.

Alternately, you can turn in the receiver and sell the parts to someone in the US.

That's enough to kake one weep.

Unfortunately, it's also true in our 'free country'.

Or perhaps find someone who will register it and look after it for you until the day when (hopefully) we can get a little 'free' back in front of the 'dom'.
