I have the compact 65ED spotting scope and am very happy with it. As a compact for carrying, the optics are right up there with the top brands.
However, the zoom that comes with it is not eyeglass friendly at all. Also, you start to loose clarity once you go past 40X. Still very good but nothing like 40X and lower.
It is not the fault of the scope but of the eyepiece. I exchanged for the eyepiece from the larger 80mm spotting scope. Works alot better for eyeglass users but not perfect.
The clarity is definitely better above 40X and have been able to see the bark structure on pine trees 2000yds away on a clear winter day.
Because I now use the spotting scope more for the range then hunting/packing, I will be going to the larger heavier 80mm or even the 100mm versions.
If interested in a like new Pentax, send me a PM.
