Hi there,
First post so be gentle!!!
I just picked up my new rifle from the gun shop.
Its a Savage 10 FCP-SR 24" in .308 Win. It comes with a once piece EGW rail and I had the gunsmith mount my Primary Arms 4-14 FFP with Burris XTR rings.
I checked the eye relief in the shop before leaving and it seemed good. On spending a bit of time a home in different positions etc. I think it may be a bit too far away from my eye.
My question is, can I just undo the lock screws on the rings and slide the scope back once notch on the weaver rail without causing too much shift in the bore sight.
I have no zeroed the rifle yet and will do so this Saturday. I plan to shoot some break in rounds and some sighters with the rifle set as is.
But I want to spend the whole day shooting and if the eye relief is off its gonna hurt the auld neck a fair bit. So if I could gain a 1/2" or so in the eye relief that may help the neck pain.
Any advice would be greatly received!!!
Thanks
