I am very new to the gun world and am looking to get my first gun, a shotgun. I have been doing alot of research and can not decide on a shotgun. I am planning on using it for sport clays for now but want to be able to use it for waterfowl in the future. Could someone give me some advice as to what i should be looking for when i purchase my firearm?

once you pick a gauge 12/16/20 and single/double/semi/pump you can bring down your choices... also what size of shell's you will want to shoot 2.75/3/3.5 all effect your choices... make the trip to westside sporting goods in Salmonarm and get one of the guys to let you shoulder some toys and help you pick one that fits you.

I have to agree.Buy an 870 express and then buy the barells add on stocks ect as your need/interest grows and changes. Its reliable and adaptable.Dave

If you're hunting from a boat at all, and want a quality pump, go Browning BPS. It's a tough gun that comes in many options. The nice thing about it for boat hunting is it has bottom eject so you're not throwing shells at the person beside you or overboard. It's a much more solid gun than the 870 too, in my opinion.

well remmy or mosberg thy have both been in the field for many years doing a great job for there owners and most of these guns out last there owners by many years .you will have people swear up and down that one is better then the other but what realy matters is which one is better fitted to you and your shooting style go and handel a few guns at the local shop or a friends neighbour or a club maby even a gun show that will tell you more then all of us can .i have both a 870 and 535 i like them both the 535 has the safty on top nice feature that i like .but both guns have worked flawlessly .and doe the job with no problems DUTCH
