Have a rem 700 McGowan remage barrel. 28" barrel 1-8" twist. I have it throated for single feeding the 250 A tip at around 4.140" col. I'm getting around 2910 fps with 89.5 gr of N570 in Nosler brass. Not sure how much I really trust that velocity on my old chronograph. I have a magnetospeeds that should arrive in a few days to re test. Am I in the ball park for what I should be getting for velocity with this powder and bullet combo or am I leaving performance on the table by not using premium brass like ADG?

Hi,I’ve had 4 300 RUM custom builds in the past and still have one in the safe.I have a benchmark 1-10 twist 27 inches long.I get 2960 with 215gn hybrid Berger’s with H1000 and I’ve used a labradar and verified it out to 1700 yards.I get the same accuracy and velocity with Remington brass as I do with nosler brass.I can guarantee you that different brass will not do much if anything at all.I haven’t use the A-tip stuff yet because they are hard to get and I’m getting great results with Berger’s.
