Hey All

I travel extensively in Eastern Canada and I am seeking a place where I can get a good selection and try on clothing for size and fit.

Clothing is used for hunting primarily, wilderness camping secondary. Additional gear is a bonus if available!

Any suggestions are appreciated?

Agreed on SAS (Smith Army Surplus). I would add David Hiroth's military shop in Toronto. He and I did a bit of business, and he very candidly invited me to his warehouse - a Raiders of the Lost Ark category scene!

Most army surplus stores are pretty hit and miss, but there's a bigger one in halifax at The Army Navy Store and a smaller one in Saint John, Roys Army Surplus.

I had heard people talk a lot about one in Memramcook outside of Moncton, but i wasn't that impressed when i was there.

You’re in Peterborough? There’s one up in Bancroft not too far from you. Can’t recall the name, but they had a lot of selection jammed into a smallish store.

Atomic surplus Bancroft

He has mostly Canadian olive drab stuff but other country's stuff as well. He isn't giving stuff away with his pricing. He is on the main north/south street which is Hwy 62, 100m north of the corner of HWY 62 and Hwy 28, west side. Been a couple of years since I was there.

Thanks for the complimentary remarks Gents!

You got me all excited I just moved to Memramcook. But I checked and the store closed in May 2021

in the fredericton NB area there is Family Outfitters on Casewood Dr. off hanwell road, and next do to that is Iron Sights Training Center. Iron Sights is not a surplus store but they have some really good quality gear and are worth a look.

We missed an obvious big surplus store just East of Montreal. Prefair is what SAIL used to be before they got more interested in selling shiny ski clothes and camping equipment.
