I have been disappointed with the terminal ballistic performance of the Hornady 110 Gr. ELD-X in my 257 Weatherby rifle and am looking for alternatives.

Here are my requirements:

Bullet weight between 100 and 120 grs.
Suitable for long shots at live game, between 200 and 500 yards. So good BC
Must expand reliably, even at long range. Initial velocity for a 100 gr. bullet would be about 3550 fps; 3450 for 110 gr. and 3350 for 120 gr.
Must have good structural integrity when impacting at high velocity. The ELD-X is too explosive at those velocities, in my estimation.

I have tried the 110 gr. Interbond, but it does not group satisfactorily in my rifle.
The Nosler Partition is OK, but has a poor BC.
The 100 Gr. TSX shoots well, but I am concerned with copper fouling, and expansion at lower velocities on long shots.
The Nosler 100 gr. E-tip and 110 gr. Accubond appear interesting.
The Swift A-Frame looks good but is too expensive.

Does anyone have hunting experience with either the E-Tip or Accubond in either a 257 Bee or a 25-06? How did they perform.

One of the better bullets I've used in my 257 was the 120 Gr Hornady HP. They were very accurate and , in the tests I done, would take the velocity of the 257. They have been discontinued by Hornady but can still be had at certain dealers who still have them in their stock.

100 gr tsx has served me well..
From 50 yards to 450.
Have never found one under the skin..
One negative, they dont transfer energy like cup and bore bullets.. most of my game goes 50 to 100 yards.
Running dead
No heart or lungs but , not as much shock ..
Haven't tried 80 gr @ 4000.
Pushing my 100gr @ 3650 with IMR4831

Sorry, did mention about fouling..
I dont shoot that rifle fouled, always clean and cold, or a follow up shot..
3 round is always high left, due to fouling. The gmx90gr also foul quickly
Some people like to run there barrels fouled

I load the 100 grain Swift Scirroco to 3300 fps out of my .25 WSSM. My daughter has shot deer as near as 50 yards and as distance as 400 with that load. All the deer died.

I tend to agree with Hitzy on this one. If the Partition works for you I would go with it, one of the most over stated Ex-lax from salesman is high BC of a bullet. Normal hunting conditions will put within 200 yds of game 99% of the time so the high BC thing should not be of much concern as long as the BC is over .450 .
enjoy.

I have been using exclusively Swift A-Frame for the past 20 years in my 257 Wby rifles. I have used just about every premium bullet on the market, and happiest with A-Frames. Yes they cost more, but how many bullets do you really use for HUNTING each year? They are always one-shot kills if bullet placement is in the right place. They NEVER break up, and I always have minimal meat damage. I killed a moose cow at 320 meters with it in early November - she didn't go 2 steps.... Just piled down.
