I do most of my hunting in Alberta and Sask, and am relocating permanently June 30, but you are absolutely correct about most guys in NS. I would say however that weight is really not a big factor for me. I've lugged a Sendero all over the mountains in Southern Alberta so I don't mind the carry and a pound or 1.5 isnt going to make or break my decision, but I appreciate the consideration for this old man.

Looking forward to hearing what you wind up with
I have a Winchester low wall in 6.5x55 it is my favourite rifle not a $3500 rifle but shoots every bit as good as $3500

One other option is KS arms in Edmonton. If you are going to build they are now offering barreled actions and they are shooters. I handled one a month or so ago and it was sweet!

Here I was hoping you had a ranch of mulies hidden somewhere around Antigonish and were looking for a new best friend.
