Typically, collectable USGI M1911A1's sell for a bit less in Canada than the U.S. however they still hold a significant value here. These are the common prices from my experience buying in Canada:

Your average 1944/1945 Remington Rand, Colt, or Ithaca in nice original condition will usually be around $900 to $1600 when you're lucky enough to catch them when they come up for sale. Nice early Colts (1942/1943) will bring a premium, closer to $1800. For a nice Union Switch and Signal expect to pay double to triple, if you can ever find one. If you're buying from a dealer, you can expect to pay significantly more.

If you're not a collector, a mixmaster or refinished M1911A1 would be a good option. A realistic price is $500 to $800 for a nice one you can shoot without risk of damaging an important historical gun.

Nice USGI mags, barrels, slides and other parts for the M1911A1 with original finish also hold some value in Canada for those trying to "correct" guns that have at some point been turned into IPSC pistols by those who didn't appreciate them at the time.

Hope that helps!

OP posting on EE...

Info already given above on how to gain access to the Equipment Exchange [aka EE] on here.

Do yourself a favour & give the EE rules a good review so that you understand & follow them.

Thankyou & welcome to CGN.

BTW, by 1911A1 GI model you mean something like these:

Yes, they occasionally can be found on the EE. Although, they usually don't last long.

Models pictured above aren't for sale at this time, though.... ;)
