I'm looking for a nice hammer coach gun. Not interested in the Baikal and I'm loosing faith the Cimarron's will arrive anytime soon. I'd like to hear about people's experiance with the CZ Hammer Coach. Who has handled or shot one and what do you think?

All you ever find on the Internet is a side profile, I'd like to see a picture from the top or some other angles. If anyone could share pictures of theirs it would be appreciated.

Any other quality coach guns with hammers available in Can. Any info would be appreciated.

I have the Hammer Classic, which is about the same only with longer barrels.
it's a true side lock, well made, and very tough!:)
The triggers are very good, an d it cocks easily.
it also has a safety, which is something I am not used to on my hammer guns, because the vintage hammer doubles did not have them.

Prophet river Firearms has several coach guns in at the moment.

For you hammer gun owners I have a question. I have seen many hammer guns in magazines, but never owned one. How are you suppose to shoot them? Ducks coming/ dog on point, you #### one then shoot one or you #### both and shoot? Do you #### while you mount or #### then mount?

I #### both my hammers and if I have screw in chokes like on my modern guns, try and pout the tighter choke on the front trigger ( right hand barrel) that way i don't have to hunt for the back trigger on the second shotr, and therre is no chance of doubling by slipping off the front trigger and hitting the back one ( it happens more than peple realize!)
This is because yur open coke NORMALY getrs fired first, not always , but mostr times.
If i am worried about one of my vintage guns not holding the sear, instead of cocking one at a time i get that danged lock fixed!
I love hunting with my hammer doubles, and hunt over dogs, in duck/goose blinds, jump shoot, the works.
I load Nice shot non-tox in my vintage gns when shooting waterfowl, and unplated lead when hunting upland birds.

This is a pic of my son and his original Chance and Sons 12 bore muzzle loading hammer gun - he shoots it VERY well with 90 grains of FFG and 1 1/8oz of shot.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm looking for a double (again) next year and that cz hammer you have got my juices flowing. I have never owned a side lock and the thought of one is very appealing.

Great pics btw, especially the first one. The brass, the birds, the gun, it's looks great together.
