Looking for eye doctor for shooting glasses east of GTA

Hello all.
Yes it has happened....
I'm getting old......
My wife is right.
The problem is my eyes are not what they used to be.
I picked up a set of knobloch target glasses and am looking for an eye doctor that can recommend a proper prescription for target shooting.
I'm located just east of GTA but would not have an issue driving to Toronto for a good doctor.

Mike is the guy i would see. If i have time, and can set it up I am going to fly in to see him before Canadian Nationals this summer.

These will only make the sights/target image sharper. If you have astigmatism these sharper images will be oval or out of round. The easiest way to correct this without surgery is to have a lens cut on the proper axis to correct your astigmatism. Regular glasses that you normally wear really won't help much because the optical center is not where you are looking through the lens when shooting prone. With a pair of Knoblochs you can adjust the lens holder so that are looking through the optical center when you are down in a prone shooting position or any other shooting position.

For some of us your regular distance correction works just fine while shooting, however seeing your sight scale or scorebook is another story. I used to make fun of those old guys and their magnifying glasses needed to read the sights...
 
Good topic and I always wondered if eye glasses could be made that would be ideal for someone who is shooting rifles. And thanks to those who provided the name of an optometrist that could assist in this activity.

Get the script you need from your optometrist and send your lens holder to Mikey. He can cut the lens and ship it back. He will put a small timing mark on the lens just in case you knock the lens out, change lens holder or take is out for some other reason.

If i do that then i would need help at nationals setting it up, and that would take away from rum time. I am thinking ahead here and prioritizing.
