Hey everyone,

I joined last month and have gotten tons of great advice on my first hunting shotgun. I am still waiting on my PAL (it's coming up on 5 months) but I have seen some unbelievable reviews on the Girsan MC312 Semi-Auto. It's made in Turkey which kind of threw me for a loop but people are saying that they're like a benelli M2 and I must admit the parts look insanely similar. I was wondering if anyone has ever fired one or owns one and could give me some insight into whether they are truly as good as the reviews. This would be my first shotgun but I cannot afford an Benelli M4/M2 or a beretta a300/a400 at this time. I have spoken to numerous people about shotguns and feel like I do want to go with a semi-auto over a pump as my first weapon. I've asked all my buddies and they haven't even heard of this company or model. Thanks in advance everyone, looking forward to learning more from you!

I do not own one, but I too have looked long and hard at this one. It seems to have great reviews and is on special at Cabelas right now...It's hard to justify paying 3-4 times the price of a girsan for something else, isn't it?

You might want to look at this thread, someone was having problems with a Girsan shotgun: https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...Girsan-MC-312-Light-Striking?highlight=girsan

And you might want to check people that are trying to fix problems with theirs on google (girsan mc312 problems, see what google offers in it's auto-completion...it will give you a good clue to the most common problems, then search for each invididually: Always look at the dates of posts you find, Girsan might have fixed a problem that was common in 2012 for exemple).

Do share what you find! I'm genuinely interested...I had that MC312 in my Cabelas basket for a few days now... ;-)

I have been using mine for a little over a year now, mainly using it for 3gun but I have taken it turkey hunting, and plan on taking it out for ducks and geese this season. It’s very light, comes with a bunch of different chokes, will run very light loads, the finish on it seems to be very nice, the only thing is the trigger is meh.. could be much nicer but for 500 bucks shipped to your door it’s a steal of a deal! And I ordered mine for G4C and had it in 2 day!! And yes it will take a ghost load. Buy with confidence my friend!

That’s really good to know! So you haven’t had any issues running light and heavy loads through it? I loved that it came with so many chokes and the reviews are great! I was concerned that it would be poor quality but a lot of guys say they’re just a M2 with a different name lol. I’m fairly new so was wondering what a Ghost Load is? Like one you reloaded your self? Thanks for the account, I really appreciate it!

It runs 2 3/4 #7.5 and #8 loads just fine and ran hotter turkey loads just the same no issues. The only issues with ammo I had was a buddy had some realllllllllyyyyy old and rusty rounds and it didn’t eject 2 out of about 40 rounds. A ghost load is a round you sit on lifter under the bolt so you can have the mag tube full one in the chamber and one on the lifter.
