Hi all,

Got my rpal last year and i have bought a few rifles and handguns since. I Live in toronto and need to find a place to shoot. the ranges close to the city are all quite expensive for membership so i am looking at either range burlington or silverdale. both a bit of a drive for me but seem to be priced fairly. I would love some input about these ranges.

Thanks

Shane

Silverdale is quite a bit father for you than Burlington. I'm on Burlington and will most likely be joining Range Burlington. I am also looking into a place in Cambridge.

Range Burlington seems pretty good. I like the 24hr access.

Do yourself the favor & take the extra drive to Silverdale, Burlington sucks. I was a member there for 6 years & left because of the new racist FUD who is apparently the safety warden. I would highly recommend to stay away from Burlington. I've been to Silverdale twice & its a world of difference, so much better. I plan on going on a Saturday soon & joining.

Sucks you had that experience with Burlington. It can have its moments and odd rules, but I think you still get a decent club for what you pay to be a member.

Silverdale is a good club, I'm not a member but have visited many times. It isn't my personal favourite for pistol shooting because I find the targets a bit low, but for everything else it is a great place.

thanks for the input, I am leaning towards silverdale, it is quite a bit further. I like that it has more ranges with varying distances and traps etc, but it is out door and un heated which means i wont get much use in winter. range burlington is closer and 24hr indoor but limited in ranges. both are priced fairly. whats wrong with the rules/people at burlington. I have to move on this soon as the rcmp have phoned me and told me that i need to find a club soon or they may revoke my rpal and the guns ive purchased since I got my rpal. i would have joined sooner but i broke my arm severely in november and still dont have the power in it to pull the slide on a handgun let alone handle a rifle or shotgun safely.

if i was a member at range burlington could i shoot at silverdale with my own firearms anytime i wanted for just the cost of a day pass?

wow... I've never heard of this before.... I personally had a few restricted at least a year before I was a member at a club....

They just want you to get out and shoot!! lol
